As a foreign national, to be allowed to study at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada, you may need a study permit. To be eligible, you must be enrolled at a DLI (have a letter of acceptance), show sufficient fund proof for tuition, GIC, living expenses, transportation etc. You may be required to provide biometrics and medical exam along with a police certificate showing you have no criminal record.<\/p>\n
Not everyone requires a study permit. Based on your application specific criteria, say you have a work permit issued on or before June 7, 2023 or you are an asylum seeker applying for certain courses or you are applying for courses lesser than 6 months, you may not require a study permit.<\/p>\n
